Subversivetek builds disruptive technologies that democratize people's lives, and it exists to support one project above all: The Essentials Commons, a cooperative effort to pull life's essentials out of captive markets.
Much of what people pay too much for isn't scarce because the world can't supply enough of it. It's scarce because a captive market (patents, licensing, regulatory capture, vertical lock-in) is built to keep it that way. That scarcity is manufactured, not real, and it sits directly on top of life's essentials: energy, water, food, medicine, and housing.
Subversivetek's core mission is to support The Essentials Commons. We develop the research and technology, raise funding and donations, and organize community contributions so the Commons can make essentials cheap through automation. Nobody profits privately from that outcome, and no entity involved is for sale.
Survival should not be a captive market. Our mission is to use science, technology, and abundant intelligence to unlock powerful innovations and direct them toward life's essentials and the safety of people.

The Essentials Commons is a cooperative, open-source effort to use automation to make energy, water, food, medicine, and housing really cheap. Not free: cheap, by removing the gatekeeper overhead baked into the price of survival. Capitalism stays optional and points at luxuries. Essentials get their own lane.
